Fancying up the garage - Part 1

Pinterest is going to be the bane of my existence. Why? Because I'm actually going to paint the stairs in my garage leading into my house and pretty up the entry way. Half the people I've told about this were like "Uhh... it's the GARAGE." Well yah, I know, but... no one uses our front door - so the entry they see is this one! Why not make it inviting, too?

All because of this... one of my very first pins!

Here's what I started with:

I know, nothing horrible or hideous. Just plain. And worn.

Chuck wasn't sold on me stenciling on the stairs, so I decided to add the words to the door instead, and ordered simple vinyl lettering from Etsy.

I'm in love with spring green right now, and had an old doormat that wasn't being used that I drew my color inspiration from.

I went to Home Depot and picked up some Behr exterior satin paint in "Pepper Grass" and some non-slip paint additive to give the stairs some texture so no one slips and falls (my luck it would be ME!).

This weekend, I'll be priming and painting the stairs and hopefully posting the final pictures next week! Stay tuned!
